Let me first say THANK YOU for calling it cornhole; I’m an Indiana boy and it kills me to hear people call it “bags.”
My strategy is a little difficult to describe in writing, but here goes:
-Hold the bag flat in your hand, with the majority of the weight in the end facing away from you.
-Bring your arm down to your side, turning your hand in towards your body as you do so, keeping the palm of your hand facing up (point the heavier end towards your body).
-As you swing your arm forward to release, straighten your hand out (pointing the heavier end of the bag forward) as you release, putting a spin onto the bag. Make sure to keep your palm facing upwards
-Aim for a point about 1/3 of the way up the board; the flat bag and the spin placed on it will carry its momentum towards the hole.
Again, this is a bit hard to explain in writing, but here’s the key: PRACTICE! Once you finally get your toss down, you can lock that in very quickly. Good luck!
